                <p>I've been monitoring the traffic for my other server that is located somewhere else..</p><p>There is some strange traffic which seems somehow realted to the network.<br /> quite regulary the are 11bits send or recieved from/to <font face="verdana,arial" size="0">145.145.22.190, which resolved to GE3-1-0.1672.JNR01.Asd002A.surf.net</font></p><p>the isp is also surfnet...<br />I'm wondering if this is some dns request or something else. google has nothing to tell about this ip...</p><p>&#160;scanning with iftop is quite nice, although it does not display a port for that ip, all other entries do have ports, meaning this is some strange traffic.<br />Sinse this traffic seems to come from eth4 it means the octadisp server(school project) is to blame, running ubuntu..</p><p>i'll investigate further </p>

                <p>I tried to install some nice statistics to follow the traffic on my site.</p>  <p>Which to choose..&#160; Analog, Webalizer,AWStats.. or even the php based BBClone.</p>  <p>Sinse bbclone only load the server on every request it doesn't seem a smart solution for a simple setup.. although it has real-time stats.</p>  <p>Analog and Webalizer are nice.. but it's not everything..</p>  <p>AWStats was picked. downloaded it from <a onclick="_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/extlink/awstats.sourceforge.net']);"  href="http://awstats.sourceforge.net" target="_blank">there site</a> and uploaded it to my guruplug. Sinse it uses Perl, I had to set the permissions correct and change the lighttpd config (cgi.assign) and it al started working.<br />After some hassle with the config files I managed to get it working propperly.. it helps to set the path correctly..&#160;  </p>

                <p>Today i moved my domain to my guruplug. Yeah!</p> 
<p>&#160;This site is served from it. Okay it's not fast.. the guruplug has a Marvell 1GHz proccessor but it works. It has around 1200 bogomips and my other 1GHz PIII has 2000.</p>
<p>Running lighthttpd to not load te plug to much.<br /></p> 
<p> </p> 
<p>The intention is to make this blog a usefull resource for others..explaining mostly linux related prpojects<br /></p>
